Over 20,000 Gray Whales migrate past our shores off Ucluelet British Columbia on Vancouver Island on there trip between Mexico and Alaska. Many will stop and feed around our protected bays during there journey. Orcas (or Killer Whales) are occasionally seen in the local waters off Ucluelet between April and September. Northern Stellar Sea Lions, California Sea Lions and Seals are also in the area.

In the Broken Islands Group of Pacific Rim National Park there are also summer resident Gray Whales. Sea lions and Seals are also commonly seen. During the summer we also have many Humpback Whales feeding just offshore on our returning schools of philchards (sardines).

Not only will you have a chance to see various species of Whales but Bald Eagles soar above the seas or can be seen perch on our wind blown trees above the rock bluffs and Sea Birds flying around close to the water looking for food. These are but a few of the fascinating mammals and sea birds that inhabit the oceans and around our beautiful islands.

Photographic opportunities are phenomenal! With the vessel a drift, get that camera out and get some memorabile photos you can view for years and enjoy the nature around you. Even the guide will be snapping photos too. Vancouver Island is surrounded by some of the most beautiful seascapes the West Coast of British Columbia has to offer.

On our excursion we will be looking for Gray Whales, Humpback Whales, and Orca whales in addition to the Stellar Sea Lions and the California Sea Lions, Eagles, Sea Otters and along the shore lines Bears can often be seen. If you are interested in catching something for dinner we can do a little bit of Salmon Fishing for awhile and maybe catch a Salmon or Cod Fish for you for dinner. A fishing license would be required to fish for that dinner.
